The nice thing about taking more then one day for a drawing is that I get more time to think about it.
At first I was planning to fill the paper with these square shapes. But yesterday I realized that not only would be a lot of work but it would change the picture. At this moment it is a kind of artificial mountain or stairway. But if I fill the paper the feeling of depth will go away I’ll be left with an, not so interesting, pattern of squares.
Of course if I make it a kind of mountain range I could vary the height of the pillars.
Just now, while I was drawing, I realized that I’m taking to much time for this drawing.
I was thinking that I hardly could wait to see the finished drawing. That the drawing was taking so much time that I was getting impatience.
Which points to one of the downsides of the autistic way of seeing detail. Correcting every mistake I make I loose track of the goal of this drawing.
This is only a sketch to get a better insight in perspective. It’s not meant to win some kind of painters award.
So get on with it.
